Through this request for proposals, the Mayor’s Housing Innovation Lab and the Boston Home Center are soliciting proposals from service providers with the tools and expertise to support 10 households earning up to 135% of the AMI assume mortgages and obtain secondary financing, if needed, for homes in Boston at an overall average interest rate that is at least one percentage point less than conventional or government-sponsored mortgage rates. The selected service provider will be expected to support buyers with identifying eligible homes with assumable mortgages, executing the required documents necessary to assume the mortgage, obtain secondary financing consistent with the City of Boston’s Loan Standards, and close on the home in a timely fashion.
The Mayor’s Office of Housing (MOH) is pleased to offer for sale a vacant parcel of land located on Linden Road in the West Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. This unnumbered parcel is situated adjacent to the residential property located at 67 Linden Road. The property consists of approximately 1,366 square feet of land and features a natural urban landscape.
The parcel is rectangular in shape and currently undeveloped. It presents a unique opportunity for adjacent property owners, or other interested parties to acquire land in a desirable residential area. The property will be sold in its current condition—“as is,” “where is,” and “with all defects”— MOH acquired the parcel through foreclosure. The sale will be awarded to the highest responsible applicant, based on qualifications, proposed use, and offer price, in accordance with the City’s land disposition policies.
The City of Boston acting by and through its Public Facilities Commission by the Director of the Mayor's Office of Housing, Director's Office Division, sells tax foreclosed or surplus municipal property to buyers who agree to invest in the rehabilitation of the property. Residential, commercial and institutional buildings and land are included in this program. The Grassroots Open Space Program makes land available specifically for the development of open space projects such as community gardens, urban farms, and passive open space.
This Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit proposals from qualified nonprofit organizations or other entities for development of the parcels as open space. The property is being offered As Is, with up to $150,000 in possible funding available from the Grassroots Program.
AOP is available on a rolling basis after the completion of a Pilot Round that allows new development teams to apply to become an AOP Developer and to allow for rolling basis of applications indefinitely or until funds are depleted.
